What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Ghost Ranch's breathtaking desert landscapes and its profound connection to Georgia O'Keeffe's art. The horseback riding tours are a standout experience, offering unique perspectives of the colorful mesas. While the natural beauty and artistic legacy are consistently praised, some guests find the on-site dining to be basic and not entirely satisfying.
"This is such a special place in the most beautiful landscape! My husband came for a work retreat and we brought our 3 and 7 year old. We enjoyed the camp style food and even managed to keep our picky 3 year old fed. The room was basic but comfortable for our 4 night stay. We weren't sure if it would have enough things for young kids to do, but it was great! We all enjoyed the little museums and the beautiful walking tracks, and the Family Center had more than enough entertainment for our kids. We're looking forward to returning in the future!"

"Most famous for being a retreat where Georgia O'keeffe summered and made art, Ghost Ranch is also a former dude ranch turned church retreat and summer camp turned retreat and vacation spot. The facilities, as such, range from tent site to camper site to dormitory to small rooms with showers to modest rooms with showers. From camping to glamping. Dining is in the cafeteria where the food is good, though basic. There's a variety of larger spaces for supporting retreats and a library with books and a few comfortable chairs.
What makes Ghost Ranch special are the scenery and that, in a sense, Ghost Ranch continued to be a working ranch, where the work turned to art, archeology, and ministry through group retreats. The art and archeology are on display in two lovely little museums.
In my pictures, I tried to show all this in an entertaining way. The welcome sign, the camp, people enjoying nature, the scenery and museum holdings. I hope you enjoy your stay."

"We did a private sunset trail ride with Juliel, our Wrangler. The tour was amazing and our Wrangler exceptional. Our horses Wyatt & Copper were fantastic and sure footed. Highly recommend this tour. We stayed in the RV park, a very small yet authentic experience. The food at the dining hall was not so good and definitely not worth it. Their system of returning your plate to the dishwasher was gross beyond words. Even though our ticket came with a breakfast, we chose not to go back. . Would not ever take in their dining hall again."
