While most visitors enjoy the clean facilities and diverse trails, some have noted inconsistencies in staff knowledge and a need for facility upkeep in certain areas.

"Really nice State Park with large sites. There are two campground loops. Either are very nice. There are nice trails that you can hike with beautiful scenery. The park Ranger there was so welcoming. We used this as an overnight stop, but are looking forward to going back. There’s a nice boat ramp, easy to launch kayaks or a small fishing boat. Ranger said the park is best known for alligators, gopher tortoises and vultures."
