What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally enjoy the hike to the MAS*H site for its blend of nature and television history. The scenic trails and the opportunity to visit a filming location are highlights. However, some note the site is smaller and more overgrown than expected, and parking can be challenging.
"We hiked to the MAS*H filming location in LA and had a great time. The trail is scenic and not too difficult, and it’s fun to see the spot where the iconic show was filmed. A nice mix of history and nature for a casual hike."
Griffin Puc
"It's a decent hike, about 2.5 miles one-way out to the site. You can get out trails that go in the same direction, one with a hill and one without. The site is smaller than you expect once you're there but a lot has overgrown since filming. Placards have photos of the filming at the time and they use the mountain range in the background in these displays for reference."

"What a great visit.
Parking is tricky as you have to park approximately ¼ away from the start of the trail (down hill a pretty decent degree slope). If you have explorers in your group with walking difficulties, I would recommend dropping them off at the start of the trail they're having them wait for you to park and return to begin together. Also, be aware that you are in a residential neighborhood. Take care not to park on The first street that you see coming back from the trail. There is a large field with a couple of horse corrals and a dilapidated looking bus stop. If you see these things, you are in the right place to park.
Once on the trail to the site of production, the hike is fairly easy. Not a lot of surprises, slopes, turns, or obstacles.
The landscape is beautiful. We visited in the winter. So things looked a bit dry and brown.
I could self takes between 20 to 30 minutes at a relaxed pace.
Once you reach your location, there is plenty of seating for eating snacks. Under a camouflage canopy, they have set up picnic tables.
Be prepared for the production location to be smaller than it appears on TV. I don't believe this takes away from any of the experience. It actually adds to the charm of the magic of Hollywood.
Be sure to keep walking down the trail when she reach the main location. Because there is a visitor center and some other things to look at after the production site."
