Native American signal tree. I checked before I posted this and I am correct. Of course this tree could have been damaged by strong winds, lightning, or other natural incidents. But the explanation I feel most accurate is that it is an American Indian marker. Especially since it is on the top of a prominent ridge line aimed north. #nativeamericanhistory #treemarker #nativeamericansignaltrees

"This place was shown to me by a really nice elderly couple who told me “you need to see this” and even though it was closed those little law breakers drove me back there anyway and quickly showed it to me. Its a neat spot. Shame its closed. Curious as to why because almost two years later it still says “temporarily closed” 🤔"

"Very beautiful and tranquil place. Well kept. Loads of history. I had to take my elderly dad back to hotel to get some rest, so unfortunately I was not able to take in the trails. Definitely plan to explore next time."

Sabrina Cruthird

"Very nice and well maintained park. Signal Tree is a truly unique and ancient tree with a lot of history. The Metro Parks have done an excellent job of preserving it. It is only a short walk from the parking lot."
