St. Georges' Distillery Review

A few weeks ago, we went to the fledgling Seven Stills distillery in San Francisco. This week, we decided to visit the mature granddaddy distillery of them all: St. George’s. [Full Review](http://www.drunkendiplomacy.com/blog/2016/6/5/st-georges-distillery) The St. George…

Any tips on good gin found only on the west coast?

My cousin is a big gin fan and has sent me on a mission. He lives in NYC and I am in San Diego for the summer. Is there anything that I can bring back to him that he won't get to try unless he is on the west coast or even better California. Thanks a lot guys!

The diverse range of spirits and the scenic waterfront location add to the overall positive experience. "We visited the distillery last Monday and it was a great experience, our tour guide(young woman) is very knowledgeable and has a great personality, makes you feel welcome, we had a great time during our tasting. I would definitely recommend this experience!!!"

"Holy future hangover Batman! lol.
Definitely do the tour and tasting, but walk next door to the restaurant and put something on your tummy immediately after.

We had a blast! I went here on a date, and it did not disappoint. Everyone was incredibly knowledgeable and generous with their explanations, including the fun fact that if you don't make alcohol correctly, you could actually go blind - so yeah, there's that lol!

I'm not usually an absinthe person, but theirs was pretty good. They produce a little bit of everything: gins, vodkas, brandies, whiskeys, and liqueurs. On their website, they list absinthe under "Mixellany." Not going to lie, I have zero clue what a Mixellany is, but you should try it anyway.

The location over looks the water a bit (cue the romance). I did not drive so I don't remember the parking situation - I feel like it was in shipping yard of sorts (don't remember). But go anyway, maybe uber lol."

"The team was wonderfully knowledgeable and guided us expertly through the processes of distillation that was equal parts technical and easy to understand. The tasting was informative and presented in-depth across the broad spectrum of their offerings. I really appreciate that St. George really embodies the California spirit of sustainability matched with a curated approach to how they select ingredients, botanicals, etc. Truly one of the great modern spirits producers!"
