Reviews Summary

The Downtown Growers Market is a beloved community hub offering a wide array of fresh produce, artisanal goods, and local food. Visitors praise its vibrant atmosphere, the quality of products, and the opportunity to support local businesses. Some find the produce prices a bit high, and parking can be a challenge, but the overall experience is highly recommended for a taste of Albuquerque's local flavor.

"Wanted to tell you, I am not a person built for marketplaces.
However, I am trying to burst out of my shell and start to participate in the things I believe in
Such as local grown crops!
So the adventure began Saturday morning yesterday, August 30, Neighbor and I journey into the farmers market. She had told me so much about.
I have sad news to tell you, actually it’s just sad news for me, I have not yet reached financial ability to shop or eat, where my morals have grown to.

But , this was a great experience, nonetheless.

This was the collective and organized farmers market, showing the absolute best of Albuquerque putting on display the many different family owned farms getting together and selling their goods in a peaceful environment with family and animals pets, and possibly the only example of community connecting without a horrific drama I have seen since I’ve moved here five years ago.

I will say this much. ….

From what I was told each one of those people had to pay a fee for their booth. If we really do want to see change in our community, and as many grants are as are given to CNM to improve properties, they improve two years prior and grants given to the town to replace roads, it seems as if Albuquerque could cover the cost of the booths for these farmers. In fact, not only would that benefit the farmer it would benefit the market itself, making it more attainable for someone like me who literally it would make the difference of me being able to afford to shop there and of course the reality is I did not purchase anything. I was given one pepper by a friendly farmer.

Now think if he didn’t have to charge such a high price would be a direct result of him not having had to pay for his booth to only just get to sell vegetables which are better for us than anything. You’ll find any store around here. Of course, wash everything you buy"

"Downtown Growers Market is so much fun! It is located in a tiny park in downtown Albuquerque and is open Saturday mornings from 8 am to noon. Farmers from surrounding areas bring their produce, herbs, flowers and plants to sell. Some are labeled “organic” and other farms do not have that certification but are at least pesticide-free. There are many other vendors selling meats, baked goods, jewelry, pottery and art. Great place to grab coffee and shop! Parking is challenging. Either arrive very early (before 8am) or be prepared to park in a nearby neighborhood and then walk."

"I was there as they opened. Glad I was. By the time we left the place with shoulder shoulder. Lots of fun things to see and buy. Enjoy talking tothe vendors. It's been a few years since I have been, but it is definitely a must do."
