What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Alderman's Ford Conservation Park for its beautiful boardwalk, well-maintained paved trails, and abundant natural scenery. It's considered a hidden gem offering a peaceful escape with opportunities for wildlife viewing and family fun. Some minor trail closures have been noted, but the overall experience is highly recommended.
"I was expecting a small park with a nice boardwalk. It was actually a decent sized park with an amazing boardwalk. Staff was kind and helpful, trails were well maintained. Only one small loop was closed, but there was still plenty of walking to do. The main paved trail was great. There was enough room to walk off the pavement if preferred. There were multiple places along the paved path that took you into the woods for side hikes, one with a good bit of elevation, others that took you to the river, and the boardwalk I think was about a half mile long and had quite a few benches and covered sitting areas. There were multiple bridges that gave you great views, and also a few restrooms with water fountains along the way. The look was about 2 miles and it weaves out and back under CR 62 which was pretty neat. I was really impressed with this park. I saw a couple of deer and a few turtles, though surprisingly enough no gators today. Not sure how since I was literally along the river all day, but I guess they weren't in the mood for visitors today. This park also has a great picnic area and playground for kids. There are quite a few pavilions and other picnic benches as well as a designated area for a few hammocks and piñatas for parties. There's also primitive camping and a canoe launch and a place for fishing. Amazing park."
