Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Aliso and Wood Canyons for its comfortable, shaded trails, abundant oak trees, and diverse attractions like Dripping Cave and Car Wreck Trail. The park offers a serene escape with picturesque canyon scenery and opportunities for wildlife sightings. However, some reviewers express frustration with e-bike riders exceeding speed limits and disregarding 'no e-bike' signs, impacting the overall experience.

"Not the typical exposed trails in soCal, Aliso and Wood Canyon trails are so comfortable to hike or bike due to many shaded path from Riparian environment. Huge oak trees. The main artery is the Aliso Creek trail which is paved as it branches out to Canyon trail which is more of dirt trail that has so many offside attractions like the dripping Cave and single tracks like coyote run. Most trails are for multi use and due to its popularity, I recommend going as early as sunrise to avoid the biker crowds. I will give a 5 if not for speeding e bikers. Says NO E-BIKES on the trails but 70% were using e-bikes. Those folks kept on overtaking even in canyon trail “eat my dust” style. This is a nature trail for everyone to enjoy not a freeway to race on. Pls respect the authenticity of experiencing real mountain biking

Today was specially awesome as the parking lot was free, otherwise the 3 usd won’t break the bank. Nice OC Park staff, very courteous and welcoming"

"I had the pleasure of exploring this beautiful trail for the first time. We chose the easier path, and the scenery in the canyon was absolutely picturesque. At the entrance of the park, there is ample parking and restrooms available, as well as portable bathrooms located midway through the hike. I highly recommend this hike for anyone looking to enjoy stunning views in a serene setting!"

"Spanning 4,500 acres with trails from easy to difficult, this park has something for hikers and bikers. The Visitor's center and parking lot are right off Alicia Pkwy and they have a good sized parking lot and restrooms. Limited parking is available on the street for free or $3, cash or credit card in their parking lot. From there you have to walk about 1 1/4 miles to access any trails. A better option for hikers is to park at Canyon Vista park and enter the park from there so you don't have to walk so far to get into the park itself. The first trail you will come to from that side is Cholla trail which is a good hike up to the West Ridge Trail. From there you can access many of the other trails in the park. Go straight to Car Wreck trail which is challenging and fun and has a real car wrecked on it! The most challenging trail I've found was 5 Oaks Trail which starts off easy and scenic but gets steep. Great view from the top though! If you want something shady and not steep try Wood Creek Trail."
