What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests appreciate the Holland Hotel's unique vintage Western decor and the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, particularly Miguel Carnero. However, some find the hotel to be overpriced for the room size and amenities, with recurring mentions of thin walls and train noise impacting the overall experience.
"Very friendly staff. The two people who checked us in were excellent and very welcoming. The rooms were clean though the bathroom needed a little updating. As others have said, trains do pass close by sounding their horns throughout the night. Though we weren't really bothered by this it may be an issue for some. The lady who put together the cocktail menu at the hotel bar was very enthusiastic and we enjoyed trying her creations. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would visit again if in the area."

"I had a great experience at the Holland Hotel in Alpine, Texas. Miguel Carnero with guest services was amazing. He’s very attentive and knowledgeable in places to visit in Alpine. He took care of all our needs in regards to our hotel stay. The hotel itself is very beautiful with lots of history. I recommend a stay if you’re in the area."

"If I could only leave a one word review it would be this: overpriced.
However, I can use more words, so allow me to elaborate. We decided to stay here to enjoy a historic hotel in Alpine, and to support a small business. While I have no regrets there, the room we were given was very small. We had one queen size bed and there was very little room to maneuver. In addition to the small size, the bathroom sink was in the bedroom. I don't know if all the rooms are this way, or we just drew the short straw. The room and overall hotel were not the cleanest either (although I've had worse). Our bed had a hair in it, and it was not ours. I have no problems with any of these issues if the hotel is priced accordingly, but our room was about double what a room at the Hampton Inn or Holiday Express would have been. Next time I'm in Alpine I'll just go with the chain hotel that provides a room that is probably cleaner and definitely larger."
