Public Fishing Access in Altamonte Springs?
Getting back into fishing after having moved here from the UK about 10 years ago but it seems there just isn’t much public lake access to any of the areas near where I live. I know the obvious public access places to fishing, state parks/cranes roost etc. My overall questions…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lake Lotus Park is a cherished local gem, praised for its beautiful boardwalks, vibrant butterfly garden, and peaceful atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the opportunities for fishing and nature observation. However, the park's closure on weekdays and occasional trail closures due to repairs are noted drawbacks.
"Although half the trails were closed when we went it was still a very lovely place to explore. There were no bear encounters. It would appear that the wildlife are used to humans though we didn’t bring food because we don’t usually do that unless it’s specified that it’s allowed but seemed like they wanted food. Very beautiful park. Definitely returning when they reopen the other side."

"Although it was beautiful as you entered the park, all but 1 trail is open. The rest are closed for hurricane repair. Was super excited to get to the lake but no access 😢 Still able to see butterflies and cute plants!"

"This little park is just the bees knees.
Since moving to the area a few years ago, I’ve been lucky to live just 2 minutes away from this hidden gem.
There’s a lot of foot area for exploring on their trails (most of which are on risen wooden boardwalks), plus the playground and of course the lake towards the back of the park where there’s always someone fishing. There’s a butterfly garden near the parking/playground areas where I’ve seen massively cool looking caterpillars, incredibly deep colored flowers, and a plethora of butterflies. My one complaint about this park is that it’s closed on weekdays (it’s closed Mon-Wed). I used to have another complaint regarding the trolley, but now that the pandemic has affected everything, there is no more trolley (yay!). You used to have to park on the other side of the main street to ride a trolley if you wanted to get in the park on weekends. Never made sense to me.
If you want to disconnect from the noise of the city, the news, and everything else, but can't go too far from home? Come here. If you easily find the magic in nature, this place is quite the adventure compared to most other parks in the area. You will be absolutely delighted."
