Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Lyman Trumbull House a gorgeous historical gem, appreciating its 1820 build date and the sentimental value it holds. However, it's crucial to remember it's a private residence, and many photos online are mistakenly attributed to it, often being of the McPike Mansion. The hope is for its continued preservation.

"Gorgeous! 1820 is the build date. Happened upon the owner. She was so polite. This is a private residence, so don't go plowing up on it. Lol. Sorry about that!"

Rachel Tipton

"Looks like a lovely home w/interesting historical background. However most of the pictures attached appear to be photos of another Alton home. One known as the McPike Mansion. If I'm not mistaken the brick home is the MCPiKe, not the Lyman Trumball. The Lyman would be the smaller white home."

Mary Jane

"An excellent historical place to visit.
It shows us the fragility of time and how it inevitably follows its course without waiting for anyone. How sad to see how everything ends, and only the sentimental value one has for things keeps them alive. I think of the effort that went into making this house, the love, and the thousands of stories that happened inside. I hope they can fully repair it and visit it again."
