Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Ash Meadows as an incredible desert oasis with stunningly blue springs and unique wildlife, particularly the endangered pupfish. Many appreciate its conservation importance and the chance to see endemic species. Some visitors, however, have been disappointed by the lack of visible fish or found the unpaved roads challenging.

"Absolutely incredible. There is so much to see and do here. We really enjoyed the trails behind the visitor center and stayed for a while just watching the pupfish in the ponds.

We came here mainly to visit the Devils Hole pupfish and see the crystal ponds but we will definitely be back to check out other areas specifically for birdwatching. Really interesting to learn about the history and how they wanted to develop the land. I’m glad they didn’t so we can all enjoy the stunning nature in the middle of the desert. Keep in mind all the roads are unpaved."

Chelsea W.

"We visited back in May but I find myself thinking back to this place often. One of the most interesting places I’ve been. I’d highly recommend visiting this hidden gem."

Matthew Mello

"As a biologist this place is cool. A lot of endemic organisms, tons of insect life and birds at the right time. I would really like to come back and spring and catch the area in bloom."
