Visitors consistently praise the Anderson County Museum for its extensive and well-presented exhibits, engaging interactive elements, and welcoming atmosphere. Many highlight the free admission and family-friendly activities like the scavenger hunt and Lego area as major draws. "In 1983, the first Anderson museum was established in a one-room space in the old courthouse. Now, the museum is located in a 26,000 sq. ft. with over 12,000 sq. ft. of permanent and temporary displays.
The current museum is housed in the city's old library (built 1971), which was constructed on the site of the old girl's school (1923-1962)."

"This place is just simply the bees knees ya'll! I took my aunt to visit and she absolutely loved the place! For some reason, she was obsessing over the cotton gin though...huh..odd. but, I personally loved the doll houses. I asked an employee if I could play with them and they said of course! I was ecstatic. I broke a few things but the the worker there said no one cares. Later, we visited the hot air balloon and we climbed inside. I had to drag my aunt over the side of the basket though because she's 90 and her joints don't work so well. That same worker threw her legs into the silly contraption. I was pleased as punch! 🥤don't tell anyone, but, when the work left, I felt a little gassy from lunch that day. We ate at L Tacos. I may have tooted a little. 🤭💨 I always pull my pants down under my buns before I break wind. But, my cheeks accidentally hugged the rope and keys just say... my toot turned into a poop. So sorry. 🥴 I don't think the worker would have minded all that much anyways. My auntie had a blast ams said her favorite part of our trip to the museum was watching me boot scoot like a dog across the floor where they displayed the confederate memorabilia! Thank you for your service! 🫡
10/10 will visit again! 😊"
