"Gee, another 5-star review for this place - they are really consistently great!! Well, I don't give these out all the time, but these folks are doing a great public service and work hard and provide a great tour. Yes, it is a little rough to pay $100 each for a 2.5 hour tour...BUT it includes a nice boat ride, plenty of staff and guides to answer all your questions, AND your money goes towards renovation and maintenance of the lighthouse (so think of a significant portion of your ticket being a donation). The Eastport area where you leave from is cute, and the maritime museum and waterfront area is fun. Street parking and tight, but we didn't have any issues. Staff had a table outside under a tree where we registered and could use the museum bathrooms. Everyone arrived early, so we left early and it was a gorgeous 30 minute trip out to the lighthouse. The boat had a lot of covering so you don't have to worry too much about sunburn. The engine is LOUD so you will have trouble holding conversations and if you are trying to protect your hearing, you may want to throw some cheap foam earplugs in your pocket. Definitely some narrow ladders (around 10 steps each) to climb up to the lighthouse. The interior is well preserved and the guides give you a good 30 minute tour of each of the rooms. Some stops around the lighthouse so everyone can get their pictures, and then head back. They provided each of us a cold bottle of water and a commemorative sticker at the end of the tour, which was a great nice surprise. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. Overall it was a great experience - highly recommended (buy tickets IN ADVANCE as most tours are sold out)!!!"

"What an incredible moment it was to step off our transport boat onto the dock of the Thomas Point Lighthouse. Having lived in the area for nearly 30 years and seen the Lighthouse hundreds of times on the water and in all kinds of art, it was a bit surreal to walk inside and imagine how life must have been for the Keepers who lived there. The docents were all excellent; they clearly are passionate about local history and love what they do. Don’t miss this opportunity!"
