What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Valleywood Golf Course is generally seen as a decent public option with well-maintained playing surfaces, though some visitors find the recent price increases steep for the course's offerings. While praised for supporting youth golf, there are mixed reviews regarding pace of play management and customer service.
"Didn't see anything wrong with the fairways, greens, tee box, driving range and practice greens. We covered the track front to back and looks good. Cement cart paths will be a huge improvement"
Space Age Explorer
"This course reinforces the stereotype of golf being snobby and unwelcoming. Disappointed that a city-owned course isn’t more inclusive of all skill levels, especially when everyone pays the same. Multiple groups played through us mid-hole, which was not only rude but dangerous. This set us back, and instead of addressing the real issue, a ranger showed up just to berate us for being slow. If pace of play is so important, maybe start by keeping tee times on schedule—ours wasn’t. Try spacing them out more if you truly care about providing an “enjoyable experience for players of all ages and ability levels.” A little patience and kindness would go a long way."
Keira Marken
"This course used to be fine, city course, not too pricey, its a tight and short course. But this year they upped it to $80 for 18 holes of golf and a cart... are you kidding me?? for a city owned course thats tight and short and honestly never in the best condition. Apple Valley must be running out of money if they need to charge $80 for that course"
