Reviews Summary
Visitors find the American Civil War Museum Appomattox to be a valuable stop for understanding the historical context of the surrender, often appreciating the Confederate perspective presented. While the exhibits and grounds are generally well-regarded, some feel the admission price is a bit steep for the museum's size, and younger children may struggle to stay engaged.
"Great stop for adults.. but if you have kids, there is little to do to entertain them while you soak in the info. I had to take pictures of everything so I could catch up later. My small ones were antsy to leave, but my middle schooler was engaged. The outside cabin and grounds were fun! We saw cotton and tobacco plants and a cabin from the era. Would love to see this lovely place incorporate more for smaller minds. Thank you for educating us!! We appreciate you!"
