This is actually in Atlanta. 🌿 Cochran Shoals is just 20 minutes from downtown and the perfect go-to while Paces Mill is closed for renovations through May 2025. 📍1956 Eugene Gunby Rd, Marietta, GA 30067 You’ll get peaceful riverside trails, wide open meadows, and that same Chattahoochee calm — all without leaving the city. 🌊 And with round trip gas around $5, there’s no reason not to pull up. 🥾Trail to Treasure✨ Finally made it to the bamboo forest at East Palisades Trail in Sandy Springs, GA 🌿 Started at the Indian Trail entrance — it’s about 1.3 miles one way. The trail’s shaded, peaceful, and runs alongside the Chattahoochee River ✨ Now let’s be real… it’s giving bamboo patch, not full-on forest 😅 BUT still pretty and worth the photo opp. 🥾 Easy Directions to the Bamboo Forest (fr...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise East Palisades for its beautiful scenery, including the unique bamboo forest and scenic river views, offering a great escape close to the city. While generally moderate, some sections can be strenuous, and parking is limited, so arriving early is advised. It's a popular, dog-friendly spot for locals and visitors alike.

"Great hike, that I found to be generally moderate, although a few areas could be considered moderate - streneous, due to the terrain and based on one's mobility. Clean trail...litter free but many downed trees along the path. I would definitely suggest wearing proper footwear as you may encounter tree trunks, tree roots, rocks, a few "stairs", small streams, and large puddles to cross or navigate, depending on which trails you take. During my hiking experience, I especially enjoyed the beautiful views, the tree canopies during a brief afternoon rain, the walk along the Chattahoochee, and the beautiful bamboo forest."

"Love this place! There are a few different trails and the one that goes all the way north along the water takes you to the bamboo forest. My dog always loved coming here. Great place to come that’s inside the perimeter."

Jason Smith

"My son and I were staying across the street at the Even Hotel and decided to explore the nearby trails- ended up finding this hidden gem tucked away in nature. The views are absolutely stunning! There’s a nice, wide paved path that loops around, and for those looking for more of a workout, there are some steep off-path trails that really kick things up a notch. Just a heads-up: those trails aren’t for the faint of heart, so be ready if you take them on. My son definitely got the challenge he needed-no complaints here!"
