What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Ebenezer Baptist Church as a profoundly moving and historically significant site, deeply connected to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The informative guided tours and the adjacent museum are frequently highlighted as exceptional. While some note the fast pace of guides, the overall experience is described as a powerful and essential visit for understanding American history.
"I had an opportunity to serve the “Ebenezer Everywhere” family as a Minstrel for their Mother’s Day celebration and, as always, it’s a distinct honor serving their house of worship. During this bout ministry support, I was especially privileged to experience the exceptional ministry of a legendary trailblazer for women in Ministry—Bishop Vashti McKinsey and also meet her in person! It was humbling to meet one of my personal heroes of the Black Church—one I had only read about and studied in books—while also serving the same hallowed ministry where Dr. Martin Luther King and his father once served, and where the current sitting U.S. Senator of Georgia also pastors. This was a powerful, intersecting moment for me and one I will never forget. 🙏🏾"

"Pretty neat spot if you're interested in learning about MLK. The tour guide was very informative and friendly (though he talks fast!). As far as I know, the church is closed unless you are there for a service or one of the guided tours, which are twice a day. I highly recommend the museum, which is across the street, as well. This whole area is necessary viewing for anyone in the area. And it's free!"

"America's Freedom Church and my spiritual home...I adore you! God put Georgia in my heart years ago and led me here. The short story of my testimony: I love the Lord and was saved by His grace! If you want to love and be loved this is the place for you as well, and we invite you to worship (online or in-person) Amen and Amen!"
