"The Gold Rush Museum is the perfect first stop for those who want to learn more about the Europeans who migrated to the Americas, the settlements they built, and how they first came across gold. The staff here is absolutely wonderful, so passionate about the history of the area and willing to share extra knowledge if you're willing to listen. It only took us about 30 minutes to get through the Museum, but it was well worth it. As someone who was born and raised in California, and grew up learning a lot about the gold rush, it always amazes me how much more there is to still learn, especially from locals here in Auburn. I highly recommend visiting here and listening to the stories of the locals."

"Very nice museum with free entrance, donations are apreciated. We got a wounderful guided tour by the man on site, he told very informative stories. You will know a lot about the life and times of the miners. And you can also walk through the replika of a mine. Learn about the weight of gold and how it was found. There is also an old train on site. The whole place is designed with love and really worth a visit!"
