What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Prospect Park Boathouse and Audubon Center for their historic charm and natural beauty, calling it a peaceful urban oasis. While the architecture and serene setting are highly lauded, some note that certain areas could benefit from modern updates, and service can sometimes feel minimal.
"~Charming but needs updates~
Historic Boathouse is charmingly sits by Lullwater Lake- north of the park. Despite its reputation, It certainly needs modern updates. A wedding in the middle of August's heat without air conditioning is a torture. Staff are doing bare minimum to get by."

"I absolutely love it here! I've been going here for the Audubon Center since I was like little (so for at least over a decade) so both the boathouse and the Audubon Center (which I highly recommend for literally anyone, it's SO cool) are one of my favorite places in the park. It's a really nice place to just sit as well. There are grassy areas close by too for picnics and stuff, as well as some waterfalls nearby that I often go to. It's also really nice once it gets later in the day and darker because it gets much quieter and more empty. Also right by it there are really awesome climbing trees!
(The photos attached include the boathouse itself and the surrounding area)."

"A lovely and peaceful cafe in Prospect Park. I was looking for a spot to do some remote work while enjoying the early spring weather and found Purslane Cafe—the perfect place with nice, strong coffee and tasteful pastries. The tables outside by the water do the rest. I will come back when the season opens up to enjoy the sunshine!
See ya soon :)"
