"I start by saying, I wish it hadn't taken me so long to discover this gem of a library. My husband and I bought a cabin in Windsor, on Long Pond about 5 years ago. No cable and barely any Internet. We've tried installing a hotspot, but the data isn't unlimited for it, so it runs out. Trying to do anything online has always been a struggle. Buying DVDs at Goodwill was getting costly and we only want to watch the movie once or twice. I visited the China library last summer, but their new building was under construction so their facilities weren't up to par as far as comfortable seating went. So this summer, I decided to try another, bigger library. Augusta isn't far so I searched online and got the address.
I was, and still am, blown away at the beauty of the interior rooms, especially the quiet rooms for reading or using a laptop. The staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating, too! One librarian helped me set up a library card even though I don't have a mailing address here in Maine (it's in Maryland). I borrowed an entire series on DVD and binged it for the next few days. There is a puzzle exchange, of which I've taken part twice, completing two 1000 piece puzzles by myself, each taking approximately 4 days to complete. There is a seed exchange, a lending library, game exchange, children's programs, a needlework social hour, small live concerts, movies, Scrabble hour, monthly book club, and so much more! I am a huge geocaching hobbyist and when I discovered that there is a geocache in this library, I was thrilled! The prerequisite for finding it is the nearby Adventure Lab. If you know, you know. Also, there is a "free books" rack. Speaking of which, I can't wait for the upcoming book sale!

"First time visiting; was welcomed generously by the staff, and told a brief history about the library. For those who haven’t been inside, it has beautiful archways and stained glass. Library is always warm and quiet, with designated rooms for children, teens, and adults. Shane is always a joy to see, as he is super friendly and knowledgeable of the library. What a great experience :)"
