"Don’t believe the website. Even though it says they are open they won’t let you in. I showed up, $50 round-trip Uber fees to get there, during business hours, and they wouldn’t let me in. Said they were open only for tours. Offered to sell me a ticket. I said I’ll buy one but I want to see the place now and they said no. I grew up a yahoo listening to these yahoo‘s, it’s my first time in Bakersfield, and this museum was on my list of priorities during my short visit. So disappointed to not be able to get in there. They are not doing justice to the people that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. I will say don’t waste your time unless you’re part of a tour group. Don’t show up unannounced during business hours expecting to be able to have a look around and reminisce about some of the music you may have heard during childhood. I lived in Nashville for a decade. The music Hall of Fame there is definitely worth a trip. I had hoped to sort of bucket list finish these two museums and now looks like that’s not gonna happen. To be honest. They weren’t only rude. They were California rude If I had been in Nashville, they would’ve let me in for as long as they were open. If you do go to Bakersfield, and get turned away, walk about 10 minutes, and check out the The Botanist. They make the best loaded french fries ever!"
