Places to be alone at night?
Hey guys back home I used to be able to walk around at night and lay down looking at the stars. Sometimes, I would play my guitar by myself. But living in Chico I don't know of any places where I can do so that are safe. Do you recommend any?

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bald Rock is a unique and beautiful natural attraction offering vast granite expanses and stunning valley views. Visitors love its adventurous feel and photographic potential, especially during sunrise, sunset, or under a full moon. However, its exposed nature means it can get extremely hot in summer, and trails can be slippery when wet, requiring careful planning and appropriate gear.
"Fantastic place to explore. The rock is very grippy. Great for adventuresome children and adults. Pretty exposed so, not recommended on a hot sunny day in the summer. You have a short hike to the granite and then from there you just cruise around exploring the area. You can easily spend a couple hours there."

"Bald Rock continues to shine as a top-notch hiking destination, even in the aftermath of nearby wildfires. The drive up isn't bad and pretty scenic, and plenty of parking in the gravel lot but the bathroom is no longer in order. Surprisingly, the area's beauty remains intact, offering breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding landscapes. Despite encountering rain and fog during my two visits this week, I managed to snap some truly stunning photos that captured the ethereal essence of the surroundings. The trickling streams and croaking frogs just added to the natural ambiance. I haven't spotted any of those red salamanders since the fires, has anyone else?
However, it's important to note that the recent weather made the trails quite slippery, so tread carefully! But don't let that deter you because the experience is absolutely worth it. One interesting change I noticed is that now, from the dome, you can actually see the parking lot and cars below. It's a bit of a difference from the previously dense wooded scenery, but it adds a unique touch to the hike, allowing for a bit of added security as you can keep an eye on your vehicle.
Overall, Bald Rock continues to enchant visitors with its natural charm and evolving vistas. Whether you're an avid hiker or just someone looking for a serene escape into nature, this spot delivers on all fronts."

"A wonderful place to visit with friends or family. The larger boulders are to the left side of the rock, after reaching the top of the trail and then thereโs still some other large boulders to the right. The restrooms are lockable concrete rooms with port-a-potties, bring along your own toilet paper and seat covers. I like to take a picture at the starting point before I venture out onto the surface of Bald Rock, as it can be easy to get lost when looking for the top of the trail before heading back to the parking lot."
