What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pacific Dunes is widely lauded as one of America's finest public golf courses, celebrated for its dramatic oceanfront holes and challenging, natural dune landscape designed by Tom Doak. While the course itself receives near-universal praise for its beauty and playability, some diners have noted the lively atmosphere at the Pacific Grill's bar area. Despite occasional weather challenges, most visitors express a strong desire to return.
"Very nice course. Loved the front 9 layout. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Played as a single which was fine on my end. Great practice facility with about a 5min drive or just take the shuttle. Food prices were very reasonable and quick grab and go options. Did get some rain on back 9 but what do you expect, coastal weather? If I play again I will definitely play during off season, I just didn't know when I'd be back again so took the opportunity."

"Best course I’ve ever played. Super hard but gorgeous. Dillion was a great caddy."

"This review is for the Pacific Grill at Pacific Dunes. On the bright side, the food, golf course views, and service were excellent. Not so good is that the restaurant is very poorly designed with a very large bar in the center. And, twice we had a large group of 8-10 people standing at the bar right next to our table. They were very loud and boisterous which would have been fine if they weren't standing two feet from our table. The bar really needs to be more isolated from the dining room. Would have given 5 stars if not for the deafening commotion at the bar."
