What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate Table Rock Viewpoint for its scenic beauty, particularly the sea stacks and the opportunity to explore sea caves and tide pools at low tide. The clean restrooms and easy parking are also noted positives. However, strong winds can significantly impact the enjoyment of the visit, making it less ideal for very young children or those sensitive to weather conditions.
"This is a nice viewpoint. Stopped here on my way back to coos Bay. Really appreciate the restrooms here. They were nice and clean and very new and updated. The parking lot looked like it was freshly striped. If there wasn't as much wind, this would been a far more enjoyable. View stop for us but with two little ones under two there really wasn't much opportunity to take in the fuse. There's lots to see here and apparently a trail that leads down to the beach. As you can see, there's even some horseback riding that goes through this area which in and of itself is impressive. I love to come back and revisit this place when there's less wind. It's definitely worth checking out if you have not been there yourself"

Exploring the Sea Caves and Tide Pools
Crucially, always check the tide charts before planning your visit. High tide can make the caves inaccessible and potentially dangerous. The experience is vastly different depending on the tide, so timing is everything for this aspect of the visit. Some visitors have even noted that the caves are decorated with graffiti, adding an unexpected artistic element.
Navigating the Elements: Wind and Weather
Beyond the wind, coastal weather can be unpredictable. Fog can roll in, obscuring views, while sunshine can be intense. It's wise to be prepared for a range of conditions. Bringing sunscreen is essential, even if it appears overcast, as UV rays can still penetrate. The presence of clean, updated restrooms is a welcome amenity for visitors braving the elements.
Photography at Table Rock Viewpoint
For those interested in macro photography, the tide pools offer a wealth of subjects. Capturing the intricate details of sea stars, anemones, and small crustaceans can be incredibly rewarding. Remember to be mindful of the environment and avoid disturbing the marine life. The graffiti in some of the caves also presents a unique, albeit unconventional, photographic subject for those seeking something different.
