Would you hike side of the mountain with metal rods?😳😬 IMO, this hike wasn’t all that bad. As long as you are being safe and aware it definitely looks scarier in a camera. Reviews Summary

The Precipice Trail is a highly rewarding but extremely challenging hike, demanding a strong head for heights and good physical condition. Hikers praise the thrilling climb, unique iron rungs, and spectacular summit views, often comparing it to other famous strenuous trails. However, its difficulty, exposure, and seasonal closures are significant considerations.

"Very strenuous. More climbing than hiking. Rewarding views along the way and at the top."

Dean Engelman

"Beautiful hike, I would say hard because all of the railing and height.
But views were rewarding! We visited in fall, so no issue with the parking and not overcrowded. We wore sturdy boots, which is a must here!"

Marta Stashevska

"Fantastic hike. Free as you don’t have to enter the park. Parking is plentiful along the road in the early-mid mornings. Much much less people as compared to beehive hike (which is in the park and thus you have to pay). Extraordinary views. It’s fun/challenging but not too long. Took me exactly 1 hour total (35 minutes up the Precipice and then 25 down the Orange & Black trail). Granted, I’m fairly fit and did it as a workout, and with excellent hiking conditions (dry, cool, breezy). My guess is it would take most about 2-3 hours when taking their time and rest breaks.
Caution: if you know you’re not in at least average shape, this might not be the hike for you. Also, if it’s rainy weather or if you’re afraid of heights, it might not be a good idea.
Overall: it’s one of my all time favorite hikes, and I liked it better than the beehive. If you want a taste of Precipice but to a slightly lesser extent, and don’t mind the crowds and parking headaches, try the beehive hike in the park."
