What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests often praise the Great Wolf Lodge Wisconsin Dells for its fantastic indoor water park and the sheer fun it provides for families, especially children. However, some reviews highlight issues with room cleanliness, noise disturbances, and inconsistent staff service, leading to a mixed overall experience for the price point.
"We drove 6 1/2 hours from the middle of Indiana to come to the Great Wolf Lodge for the first time to celebrate my oldest daughter’s 7th birthday. Check-in was a smooth process and everyone was very helpful and friendly! Everything was serviced smoothly, staff was always attentive, and nothing felt like it was slacking or neglected.
We got the fireplace/whirlpool suite and it was so relaxing. We had plenty of room to sleep, move around, eat while enjoying the perks of our room with the 4 of us.
The water park was absolutely fantastic! (Sorry, no pictures since the kids wanted to enjoy everything and we left our phones in the room) But there were 3 different sections to enjoy and plenty of variety for different thrill seekers.
We didn’t pay for any of the extra packages because we travel a lot and know how to make our own fun. My oldest did do a Build-A-Bear and it was an experience she greatly enjoyed!
The surrounding area was peaceful during the day and got busier by nightfall but that’s expected. And the only time I felt crowded was in the front lobby, especially if one of the scheduled activities was taking place. Definitely plan to be through the lobby BEFORE the activities start because it happens right at the front doors so it’s hard to navigate through.
Overall, 10/10 experience coming from a seasoned traveling family. We will probably return next year, if our daughters would like but I definitely recommend this location."

"At 8:17 p.m. after returning to my room from the water park. I went to take a shower and as soon as I touched the knob it feel off. I called the front desk and spoke to Alex. I explained that the know fell off and we were not able to take a shower. Alex said maintenance would be up shortly to fix the problem. Alex called back to the room three minutes later and said he was just calling to ask what was wrong again and make sure he had the message right. At 9:20 p.m. I called back to the front desk and explained that it has been an hour maintenance has not come and we are itching and still unable to shower because we have eczema. The lady who didn't give her name said she had to look into it. I said can we just have another room because we are itching and really need to shower. She said I have to ask my supervisor and placed me on hold. Alex then picked up the phone and said I spoke to you an hour ago and I have to reach out to them to see why they didn't come, apologized, said they were definitely still coming, and ended the call. At 10:12 p.m. maintenance came to the door went in the washroom and looked at the shower turned on the water and said I'll be back. Ten minutes later he returned stayed for 2 minutes then left out again. When he left the second time he didn't say anything and left my room door open so I thought he was coming back. There still is no knob and at 10:57 p.m. I jusy got up and locked my room door because he still hasn't returned. This is horrible! We are here to celebrate a child's birthday. What a horrible way to spend the first night of her birthday weekend. Is this really how you treat guests? This is not my first trip here but it's definitely my last. Going to sleep itching"

"Our experience at Great Wolf Lodge was okay. We chose this resort for the amenities and activities geared to our 3 and 5 year old. They loved the yoga, story time, bingo, and clock show. Staff was friendly. There’s plenty of food options, and the waterpark is great.
My only concern was the rooms. We chose one with a queen(really it’s a full bed), and a separate area with a bunk that our five year old was very excited about. When we got to our room, the balcony was closed and locked off due to construction. We chose this room so that my husband and I could go out on the balcony while the kids were sleeping and we wouldn’t have to be extra quiet, that was no longer an option. We did contact management and they made it right.
My next concern was the loudness from the people above us. Never while staying in a hotel have I experienced noise like this- loud constant banging, creakiness, and running across my ceiling. It went on until at least midnight one night and then again at 7am and this is how we woke up. Absolutely ridiculous. (I posted a video on it, you can see it on the google maps reviews)
Minus the room inconveniences, we had a good stay."
