Visitors find Man Mound a unique and historically significant site, worth a detour for its rare human effigy shape and the mystery it holds. While the ground-level viewing and road bisecting the mound present challenges for photography and full appreciation, the informative signage and peaceful woodland setting are appreciated.
"It's worth driving off your route to check this out. So unique, interesting history and leaves one with more questions than answers. The vibe from the nearby woods(private) makes one wonder if this was a warning of something lurking out there, watching."

"We're majorly into Effigy Mounds and have been wanting to check out Man Mound for awhile. There was a lot of great signage providing directions to the mound. The mound was incredible! It's such a shame they built the road through it. :( The info boards they had were great; provided great history and preservation details. We wished there was a raised platform somewhere to get a better view of the mound. Ample parking and a picnic area."

"It is a little hard to see, as you can only witness it from ground level. Unlike the serpent mound in Ohio that has an observation deck. A very unique effigy and one of many found in Wisconsin. There are a few picnic tables and a few benches for resting. The effigy is split by a paved road. It is hard to get a good picture of it, so my apologies for the bad photos. Parking was a little snug and may only admit 8 to 10 vehicles at a time. I wouldn't try to bring in a trailer, camper, or RV into the parking lot."
