Reviews Summary

Uwajimaya Beaverton is celebrated as a premier Asian grocery store in Oregon, offering an unparalleled selection of authentic ingredients, fresh seafood, and delicious prepared foods. Visitors rave about the vast aisles, unique finds, and the overall immersive cultural experience. While it can get busy, the quality and variety make it a worthwhile destination for food lovers and shoppers alike.

"If you’re looking for a nice treat, especially Japanese or Asian style, you have to take a trip to one of the best Asian Grocery stores in Oregon, Uwajimaya!

I Always love shopping here, they have a super wide selection of Asian sauces and spices, literally aisles of them. They have an amazing section of fun gifts and kitchen tools/cooking utensils, instruments and rice cookers.

On one end of the store is their amazing deli with hot food, steam buns, misubi, and fresh teriyaki rice bowls, etc. and right next door to that is their fish department. They make amazing Poké and have many different types. They also have live clams, oysters, even live Dungeness crab when in season. You can buy a whole fillet of fresh frozen hamachi and many other seafood dishes. They have over 40 kinds of miso which is awesome and many different kimchi’s, pickled veggies, etc. They have awesome exotic Asian vegetables and fruit when in season. There is an entire aisle dedicated to everything rice cracker related.

They also have a Japanese bookstore in the corner which happens to carry all kinds of amazing things Japanese. Super cool transformers and toys and books/japanese comics and Pokémon, the list goes on.

They also have a Japanese Ramen restaurant in a separate end of the building with a shared door to the inside.

One of my favorite things here is the wide variety of frozen Shumai, dumplings, and other Dim sum style treats.

What’s even better. Their entire beverage selection is in coolers with doors. No more going to a store with imported drinks, just to wait to get it home to chill out and be ready to drink. There is over 30’ of chilled space all with doors, dedicated to this purpose. A wide portion of the back wall of the store. Super awesome and such a treat in summer or when grabbing a snack and want to have something refreshing to drink and ready to enjoy.

They have a whole sake and Asian wine section in the store too with great options to choose from and fun treats from over the ocean.

Now if you want rice, they have a nice set of the staple sized bags, but they also have a selection of super refined and extra polished high end sushi rice offerings that are excellent.

I could probably keep going, but I’m sure you get the point. Don’t just go to Uwajimaya for a quick visit, plan to spend a bit of time to browse an aisle or two and see what they have, I promise you won’t regret it.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I wish you a wonderful trip to Uwajimaya!

Have a lovely day.

Thank"

"I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl and it’s still my favorite Japanese grocery store. The variety of other Asian foods is also amazing and they showcase artisanal products from local Japanese families and businesses as well."

"I’ve been waiting nearly a year to try this place, and wow….was it worth the wait! From the moment I walked in, I was absolutely blown away by the selection. This market is an Asian and Asian-fusion paradise, with everything you can imagine, traditional favorites, modern flavors, and hard to find specialties all under one roof.

The aisles are overflowing with incredible products, and the produce section is next level. It’s packed with fresh, hard to find ingredients that are beautifully stocked. The meat department is just as impressive, and the seafood section is unbelievable crab, lobster, oysters, and just about every fish you can think of.

The deli and prepared foods are a dream. There are authentic side dishes, grab and go meals, and sushi being made right on site. It’s truly a foodie wonderland.

The only downside? It’s busy, and employees are helpful if you ask, but it’s definitely a “know what you need” type of place, especially on a Saturday when it’s packed. That said, the prices are amazing, especially for the quality and selection you get.

Overall, this market is an absolute gem. If you love Asian flavors, Asian fusion, or just exploring new and exciting ingredients, you’ll be in heaven here. I can’t wait to go back!"
