What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often describe Bayview Cemetery as a peaceful and beautiful place, especially appreciated for its well-maintained grounds and historical significance. While some are drawn by its spooky legends and paranormal lore, others find solace and quiet reflection among the gravestones. A minor point of contention for some is the presence of off-leash dogs on gravesites, though this doesn't detract from the overall serene atmosphere for most.
"I can’t say I like cemeteries, but when my mom died unexpectedly, the City of Bellingham Bayview Cemetary made her burial as kind and uncomplicated as it could be. We also worked with Moles Funeral Service on the property, and they too were kind and considerate.
I drive by her every day, and that is both heartening and painful. We were also able to purchase a plot next to hers for my dad, who is very much still alive.
It’s hard to think about that.
I’m not crazy about the off-leash dogs and on-leash dog-walkers on the actual graves, as opposed to the roads throughout the property, but I don’t know the circumstances of why folks walk there dogs there.
I’ve never seen any dog debris left out, so that all I could ask for.
The fact that Moles does green burials in Bayview is a desirable feature for me because I want to become earth as soon as possible when I die, which will be in at least 47 more years, as I plan to live to be at least 100."

"One of the most peaceful places in Bellingham. I come visit my grandma here whenever I’m going through anything hard or meditate or walk through here when I want to find some peace."

"In the heart of Bellingham, there lay a cemetery with a haunting past, shrouded in mystery and sorrow. Legend had it that beneath the gnarled trees and moss-covered gravestones, restless spirits roamed, seeking peace they could never find.
One chilly autumn evening, Sarah ventured into the cemetery, drawn by a morbid curiosity she couldn't explain. As she wandered among the silent graves, a sense of unease crept over her, and she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched.
Suddenly, Sarah heard a faint whimpering coming from behind a crumbling mausoleum. With trepidation, she approached, her heart pounding in her chest. Peering around the corner, she gasped in horror at the sight before her.
There, huddled among the shadows, was a ghostly figure—a young girl with tear-streaked cheeks and vacant eyes. As Sarah watched in disbelief, the girl whispered tales of tragedy and loss, her voice barely more than a whisper carried on the chilly breeze.
The girl revealed that she was one of many souls trapped in the cemetery, unable to find peace until their untold stories were heard. With tears in her eyes, Sarah listened as the girl recounted her final moments, a victim of a long-forgotten tragedy that had left her soul wandering the earth for centuries.
Moved by the girl's plight, Sarah vowed to help her find closure, promising to share her story with the world. But as she reached out to touch the girl's ethereal form, she vanished into thin air, leaving behind only a lingering sense of sadness and despair.
From that day forward, Sarah returned to the cemetery, determined to uncover the truth behind the girl's story and bring peace to her restless soul. And though the nights grew colder and the shadows longer, Sarah never forgot the haunting encounter that had changed her life forever."
