Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Cullers Overlook for its absolutely stunning panoramic views of the valley and river, making it a perfect spot for photos, especially during the vibrant fall foliage season. While easily accessible, be prepared for crowds during peak times, and pack accordingly if venturing onto the nearby trails which offer a more serene experience.
"Didn't do the trail, but we did take in all of the views from the observation deck up top! Always a great little spot to stop, but, be warned- it's busy this time of year (October) due to the fall colors! Great pitstop for an awesome fall family pic!
The trail starts at the overlook, but connects to other trails and seems fairly easy as most of it is on flat ground near the river. Not a ton of shade or cover once you get out on the trail, so come prepared if it's a warmer day."

"We visited in early November 2024 on a Sunday morning. This was our 28th Virginia State Park for the VA State Park Trail Quest.
We stopped by the iconic Culler's Overlook that everyone stops at. It was really nice but there were quite a few cars here and people. While being very easy to get to for the views, we enjoyed the peaceful serenity of the overlooks on Redtail Ridge Trail more.
We didn't have much time for anything else as we were passing through and not staying in the area. We would definitely come back again to do the other trails. There were just so many to pick from. If you don't have a lot of time and just passing through, Culler's Overlook is a quick and easy check box on your list."
