What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This iconic Googie-style gas station is praised for its unique 1960s architecture, making it a popular photo spot. However, many visitors report negative experiences with customer service, including aggressive staff and concerns about fuel pump accuracy and pricing. It's often seen as more of a visual landmark than a reliable service station.
"I had a very disappointing experience at this Beverly Hills gas station. The fueling worker came up to me and told me I wasn’t allowed to park at the pump unless I paid for their “full service” option — which costs a full dollar more per gallon just for someone to pump your gas. That already felt unfair and unwelcoming, but it got worse.
The worker was extremely rude and disrespectful, treating me as if I had no idea how a gas station works. My girlfriend was sitting in the car with a small vape, and both workers immediately came over and confronted us aggressively, saying “no smoking on the premises.” I understand safety rules when it comes to cigarettes or tobacco, but being treated like we were doing something dangerous for simply having a vape in the car was over the top and unnecessary.
In the end, I felt attacked, disrespected, and still had to pay for overpriced gasoline. For a station in Beverly Hills, I expected far better customer service and professionalism. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning and would not recommend this location to others."

"Scam pump.
I was charged $89.24 for 14.875 gallons of gas. My BMW M440i holds 15.6 gallons, and I was nearly empty. After filling up and driving only 3 miles, my digital fuel gauge still read under half a tank.
The station attendant said it was my car's fault and told me to "drive more." I've never had this issue before, and the digital system updates in real time. I have timestamped photos and filed a formal complaint with LA County Weights & Measures.
Either the pump is malfunctioning or rigged.
Avoid this place -- pump #6. Check the times on the photos - less than two hours to supposedly use roughly 8 gallons. Ridiculous.
Oh and it was 5.99/gallon. Love that."

The Architectural Significance
The station's design is a key draw for visitors, who often stop specifically to admire and photograph its distinctive look. It represents a significant piece of Los Angeles's mid-century modern heritage, offering a glimpse into a bygone era of roadside architecture. While its primary function is a gas station, its aesthetic appeal elevates it to a landmark status within Beverly Hills.
Customer Service and Experiences
Furthermore, some patrons have raised concerns about potential pump inaccuracies, leading to suspicions of overcharging. One review detailed a significant discrepancy between the amount of gas purchased and the subsequent fuel gauge reading, prompting a formal complaint. The station's store has also faced criticism for selling faulty products and for a general lack of customer care when issues arise. These experiences contrast sharply with the expected level of service in an upscale area like Beverly Hills.
