"The Drillfield is a must-see if you’re on campus at Virginia Tech. It’s a huge, open green space surrounded by beautiful trees and historic architecture. Whether you’re taking a walk, relaxing under a tree, or just passing through, it’s a great spot to take in some fresh air and campus vibes.
The area feels calm and inviting, perfect for a quick break from classes or work. I really enjoyed how open and well-kept it was — it’s definitely one of the highlights of the campus.
Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!"

"The drill field is where people can just hang out and chill. I enjoyed watching and participating at the marches. This place is where memories are made since it holds the snowball fight, parades, and walking casually. It's believe to be the fastest route back to upper quad from D2 but who knows... Jokes aside I enjoyed being able to look up at the sky without obstruction. Very peaceful"

"We went when there was a cicada outbreak, but it really was a great experience. It’s so surreal seeing such a large green space. I am a graduate of UVA, but enjoyed my time visiting VTech. The architecture was really pretty"
