What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise The Roundup for its friendly atmosphere, good sound quality, and diverse craft beer selection. The outdoor setting and family-friendly amenities are also highlights. However, some guests find the mandatory parking fees and limited women's restroom facilities to be drawbacks.
"Interesting little spot for live music.
It’s a mostly outdoor venue, so if there’s weather coming, I would try to contact the venue. (Although admittedly, I have no idea what their inclement weather policy or communications looks like.)
There were plenty of bars to order drinks, a few food trucks, and lots of space to dance. (The women’s bathroom is kind of small, IIRC there were 3 stalls. I don’t know about the men’s bathroom. Lol. There were also a few porta-potties.)
There is VIP reserved seating available. The tables are picnic-style. The VIP seating areas are terraced, so you get a pretty good view of the stage from pretty much wherever you sit.
The stage is elevated so if you’re on the ground floor, you still get a good view. You’re also allowed to bring your own chairs, too! There were a handful of people who took advantage of that option. The sound quality was very good and not “too loud.” We could hear it clearly in the seated areas but it wasn’t deafening in the dance area.
I took off a star because the venue charges for parking. $20 for slightly closer, “better” parking or $10 for parking a little further away. (Honestly though, there’s not a big difference in distance.) My main complaint about having to pay for parking is that 1. It’s not well advertised on the site or the tickets and 2. It’s the same property! There is no alternative parking, so you have to pay for parking. At the venue you already paid for tickets at… Why not just add a fee to the ticket?"

"Pretty cool place to come with the family
If u coming to a concert they charge $10 parking $20 for vip parking which isn’t much of a difference
They have a food truck and the beers are $8 each.
I was just a little concerned that I asked for water with ice and they said they only sold bottled water so we had to buy it, but it seemed like everyone else was being brought water with ice by the waitresses, but maybe it was water with vodka or something else so I was a little confused.
The place is huge and everyone is super nice
Ps..watch out for the cops as u leave towards I-10 when it’s over because there are tons of them and the speed limit is 55 driving back"

"Located in the “middle of nowhere”, this is a decent place to stop in to quench your thirst or check out an awesome concert.
Full bar, wine, and 25 craft beers on tap. The draft beer is $5 for what appears to be 12 ounces, not a pint. If you’re looking for the big named breweries, they only have those ones available in bottles.
They don’t have a kitchen, but they do have food trucks out back. On my visit, they had two food trucks on site but only one was open - it was a BBQ truck.
Very nice deck outside to hangout on, and the inside is airy with wide open garage style doors for the breeze to blow in and out of. On concert nights, most of the deck is reserved for VIP tickets - it’s the only area that has seating. It’s elevated, so there’s no one blocking your view of the stage.
There’s a pool table, a dart board, a couple of TVs to watch your favorite team on, and even a play area for kids. The play area includes playground equipment and these bouncy things in the photos - not sure what those are called, but they looked like fun.
The Roundup has a good reputation for hosting good outdoor concerts featuring good ol’ Texas artists. Some of the past and future artists include Kevin Fowler, The Josh Abbott Band, Pat Green, Kyle Park, Gary P. Nunn, Wade Bowen, Reckless Kelly, and even the Spazmatics!
It’s family friendly, but you should probably think twice before bringing the kids on a concert night."
