Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise The Sagamore Resort's spectacular Lake George location and breathtaking views, highlighting the well-maintained grounds and attentive service. While the resort offers numerous amenities and activities, some find standard rooms could use updating and note that the resort fee adds to the overall cost. Despite minor room issues, many visitors express a desire to return for its luxurious and memorable experience.
"The location is spectacular. I have gone there several times over the last few decades. Lake George is beautiful and the water remains pristine. I had a sense that the operation has gone too corporate. The sense of turn of the 19th century charm has gone the bar and the wine selections were excellent. The appetizers and small plates for drinks were very good. The Club Room restaurant at the golf course was excellent. Our waiter Lincoln, who also served as bartender, was excellent small room, beautiful fireplace, great romantic setting. The spa was also excellent. Most definitely worth a trip anytime a year, but especially in summer and fall. It’s not cheap but the setting is worth it."

"First off The Sagamore Resort, is just that, a true resort. Shy of golf, it has most anything one might want to do available. The view from the front patio and pool areas is to die for. My wife and I couldn’t stop talking about how lovely the 180 degree lake view really was. An open expanse of water boats going by. Hills/mountains on both sides. Wow.
We stayed three nights in mid September and the weather was perfect. Daily highs in the mid to upper 70s and mostly sunny. Perfect for the pool. Most kids were back in class so it wasn't too noisy then.
Our standard room was just that, basic. A view of the volleyball sand court. In building 4, quite a long walk to the main house/building to get our morning coffee. You might want to pay a bit more than I did and get a water view (I believe it was about $100 more per day.) Even better, maybe stay in the main house since all the people action is located there. We had maybe more than our share of minor room issues, such as a broken K pod coffee machine, a blow dryer that flopped over so my wife really couldn’t dry her hair, and a front door that rattled badly each time the other room in our little corridor was opened and closed. My wife thought each time someone was trying to enter our room. In fairness, each call to the front desk resulted in someone from “engineering” being dispatched fairly quickly and the problems got resolved.
A nice array of on site restaurants covering from basic food to fancy. Prices were not too bad either. There is a small market near by and you can also drag food and drink back to the room and/or eat it at the pool etc. They don’t seem to mind any of this. I was amazed that the pool area didn’t have the usual sign posting all the things you should not do. Low key to say the least.
The resort runs free varied tours of the lake for guests on the Morgan, a very cute 71’ replica of a 19th century touring vessel. There is live play by play narration as you cruise around.
I think we might have enjoyed the visit a bit more if we went with another couple. Others were doing that and seemed to be having a great time.
At the end of your stay you get a final charge including the “resort fee” which for us amounted to an additional $167.00."

"I just returned from a stay for 4 nights with my family including a baby.
1. The hotel is lovely and the staff is attentive. I appreciated the texts throughout our stay.
2. The pool is amazing and large enough to accommodate a full house comfortably.
3. The icecream in the afternoon is a sweet touch and enjoyable.
4. The Bella vita is great but the service can be so slow. I know it was a busy weekend but can you please speed this up.
5. The pavillionvand lake house were also nice options.
6. The indoor pool is fabulous and the staff (especially the maintenance supervisor) were so accommodating.
7. The hotel is so close to the town we had dinner in town one evening. This is a nice option and they provide shuttle service.
All in all a great trip and we will return!
That recreation center will be perfect for my grandson in a year or two.
Thanks"
