-ANZA BORREGO DESERT STATE PARK- We started off our desert adventure with a stop at the visitor center to grab maps and use the bathroom. We also watched a 15 minute movie about plants and animals we might find in the desert. The flowers at the visitor center are so pretty right now! On our way to our hikes, we drove down Borrego Springs Rd to see the metal sculptures at Galleta Meadows. 📍 Visit...

Anza Borego Desert State Park from Visitor Center to pict trail. We visited Anza-Borrego Desert State Park on the way from Palm Springs to San Diego.

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center for its helpful staff, informative exhibits, and engaging park film. It's considered an essential first stop for planning desert adventures. While the park itself is vast and beautiful, some reviews mention access limitations to certain areas due to environmental regulations. Reddit

"Amazing visitor center with plenty of interesting exhibits and park film. Amazing rangers to help you out too! Park stamps of the park and the Anza Trail are offered here as well as a junior ranger program (no age-limit, so anyone can do!). If you can, hit a star party for some astonishing night skies."

TheDoRanger

"The state park, because they are firmly under the spell of the radical environmentalist and the Democrats, have basically cut off access to most of the northern part of the park to all but the most hardy of hikers of which I am one so I thought I would post some photos of what others who aren't quite so fit used to be able to enjoy because they could drive their Jeeps back up into these areas but now can't. Seems like kind of a shame to me that only a very select few can enjoy these areas anymore, due to who knows what or why, but then again being under the control of radical environmentalists and the California Democrats means you don't have to answer the questions of what or why."

Steve Cowen

"Great place! We stopped here first to get info on the various hikes in the area. Great visitor center and staff to answer all of the questions. The center also has great samples of the various cacti out front. $10 entrance fee to the park/carload. Very clean restrooms with soap and paper towels! Picnic area both in the sun and in the shade around the center. Ample parking on dirt"
