What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors express sadness over the impending closure of Six Flags America in November 2025, reminiscing about past visits. While some note a lack of recent investment, the park offers enjoyable rides and a dedicated kids' area. Operational issues like ride closures and slow dispatches are mentioned, but current low crowds make visits manageable and cost-effective with online ticket deals and souvenir cup savings.
"THIS REVIEW WILL SAVE YOU MONEY. The park closes permanently in November. If you plan to go before it does, buy the standard ticket. I promise there is NO need to buy a fast pass of any kind as the park is mostly empty even on weekends.
If you buy a single meal deal, there’s about a $4 cost savings if you order your meal and drink from Jonny Rockets ($28 regular and $24 with the meal deal ticket). My wife and I enjoyed the rides and the theme park, and we hope they build something similar there."

"I love this place! 🙃🥳My daughter & i will most certainly miss our home state amusement park. I been coming here since I was 9 in the "adventure world" to "wild world" days. I'm very sad to see Six Flags not invest in the park overall that much since 2000. However, what they added since are great flat ride additions. If it got its fair share of investment $ along the years since superman was added, I think it would still have survived the cutting board. What a shame😭
That being said, I hope everyone got their fun in by now. If not, this weekend will be the final hooray! I'm sure we'll be there getting our last kicks in, weather is looking good so far!
✌🏽😎"

"I absolutely love Six Flags. Definitely one of my favorite amusement parks I’ve ever been to. I always came here multiple times during the summer as a kid so I had to come one last final time. before they close for good. Some of their rides were shut down, but we still had a great time. The workers are super nice and polite. I’m glad my kids got to come at least one time before they shut down for good. We had such a great time but also sad knowing this will be our last time here for good and this place will set vacant. I do recommend buying tickets online since they’re half off? I also recommend getting a souvenir cup for $20 so you can get free refills for the rest of the day and you can keep the cup as a little memory."

The Imminent Closure of Six Flags America
The park's closure marks the end of an era for many local families and theme park enthusiasts. Despite some visitors feeling that Six Flags hasn't invested heavily in the park since the early 2000s, the addition of new flat rides has been appreciated. The hope remains that the park could have survived if it had received more consistent investment over the years.
For those planning a visit before the closure, it's important to note that the park is currently experiencing low crowd levels. This means that purchasing standard tickets is recommended, as fast passes are likely unnecessary and will save you money. It's a final opportunity to enjoy the roller coasters, water park, and family-friendly zones before they are gone forever.
Navigating Ride Operations and Wait Times
For example, specific rides like Superman and Batman have been mentioned as potentially being closed for maintenance, so it's wise to check the status of your must-ride attractions beforehand. The efficiency of ride dispatch can also vary, with some attractions taking a few minutes per train. This is a crucial piece of information for anyone planning their day to ensure they can experience as many rides as possible before the park's closure.
Despite these operational challenges, the current low crowd levels mean that wait times are generally manageable. Visitors are advised to prioritize their must-do rides and be patient, as the overall experience can still be very enjoyable.
Maximizing Value: Tickets and Dining
Beyond admission, consider investing in a souvenir cup for around $20. This purchase allows for free refills of beverages throughout the day, offering excellent value, especially on warmer days. Dining can also be managed cost-effectively; meal deals, particularly those at Jonny Rockets, have been noted to provide a noticeable saving compared to ordering items individually.
These strategies, combined with the current low attendance, mean that a visit to Six Flags America can be both fun and budget-friendly during its final operational period.
