What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Kitsap 9/11 Memorial deeply moving, appreciating the inclusion of actual Ground Zero artifacts and the thoughtful design that incorporates stories and children's tributes. Its serene location in Evergreen Park adds to the contemplative experience, making it a poignant and unexpected site of remembrance.
"As a former New Yorker (a current one in the heart), I was quite moved by the memorial here, with actual warped beams from Ground Zero, and ringed by a plethora of tiles made by children to commemorate the event and those who were lost. I imagine this Memorial is here because of the large military presence in Bremerton, but it was unexpected nonetheless and quite affecting. A quiet serenity exudes from this place, mundane and not far removed from ordinary life yet somehow sacred just the same. In part, I think I found this Memorial unexpectedly affecting because it doesn't have to be here: this is not Ground Zero or anywhere close to New York City or the Pentagon. It simply serves as a reminder of how fragile our way of life is and how brave are the first responders who sought to defend it in one of the most forlorn days in American history."

"Well designed memorial of the events on 9-11. I love how the rings around the girders tell the stories of different locations on 9/11/01, and it’s sobering to stand there under the girders and remember that day."

"Such a beautiful memorial. The City of Bremerton has even removed an old building to enhance the expanse of the park.
There's a brand new boat launch as well. Thank you Port of Bremerton.
Evergreen Park is also home to the Bremerton Farmers Market."
