"PLEASE NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!! I was at bluebonnet haven for 6 months. At first it is very beautiful, it's a nice home setting with staff who will introduce themselves and they'll tell you the rules of being there and update you on either new rules, or rules that they forgot to tell you that need to follow in order to drop your level of care. I was so happy being there with staff who are caring and so generous. However, it changed. They disrespected SEVERAL of my rights: the staff would ignore me and treat me differently from the rest of the children there. When they will get in trouble with licensing, they take it out on kids who have reported situations like this. We get incident reports when fighting, non-compliant,skipping school and etc. One of the staff there would tell me that I can do something but, when I did it, they would argue with me and say they never said it when IT WAS said. I got incident reports for listening to staff and then they'd turn around later and write me up. I was embarrassed infront of kids, they supported bullying because the kid that is bullying is mainly a kid who thinks they're higher than the program. Why do they think they're higher than the program? Because the staff let it happen, they hype up this type of behavior making it worse for almost everyone. I have cried hard from being ignored and called names. I had depression and anxiety from being neglected and ignored In the past. Keep in mind all the triggers that I had I DID tell staff and licensing ahead of time. Staff are supposed to help you and lift you up, at bluebonnet haven, the staff ignore you and disregard your rights. The staff say that if you have a problem or if they do something wrong/someone else doing something wrong talk to them!! How am I supposed to talk to staff if they ignore me and put me down?? I was stressed to the point that I'd get headaches and stomach aches from crying and keeping in my emotions because I cannot talk to staff, I was suffering and I didn't know what to do. I felt so trapped, we already are locked behind gates so there was no escaping the pain, the ignorance, and the childish behaviors that the staff partake in. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO CARE FOR YOU DISRESPECT YOUR RIGHTS AND MAKE YOU FEEL HORRIBLE!!! This was my experience, it's going to be different for everyone of course. But, keep in mind my experience also can be yours/your child's experience and that is not fun at all. P.s some of the staff there are great and see your pain with other staff doing these things. Some staff Therapists, and the women of Bible study have supported me for my 6 months of being there. I am so glad that I left this place i feel so much better! But yes 1 star because this placement is hell! :,("

"I spent the months of May 25-Oct 19 2022 at Bluebonnet. I underwent intense ridicule for my fashion tastes (Goth) from the staff, I was forced to attend church despite being Jewish. At one time, I had a severe flashback to my sexual abuse, and staff encouraged other youth to yell at me and pour ice water on me. One staff jumped on top of me and slapped me, despite the fact that I was not harming myself or others, nor had I done anything to warrant a restraint. Overall experience was horrible. The therapists, specifically Ms. Aurich, however, are lovely."

"Bluebonnet haven is unstable and unsafe for children and adolescent femails blossoming into adulthood, Bluebonnet haven (bbh) has alleged to be a safe place for adolescent femails whom travel down the wrong path however understanding of following threw the plans of rehabilitation are null and void. Children in bbh are exposed to problems like fights leading to hospitalizations and brake outs . Teenagers privacy is only given when useing the bathrooms and that is still easily subject to change. Children are given strikes without warnings over thier behavior and led to isolation rooms without given the proper time to change and prove themselves as innocent. Children and teens have also been given addictive and harmful medications via doctoral staff not listening to the children about their care and not doing proper checking before giving the medicine to suck child."
