"Beach is great but parking is not public (should be), residential permit parking only. Threatened by $40 fine super Lame- put in some meters . Made a quick stop.."

"I don't want to give this 5 stars... because I don't want to make this hidden gem any more popular. Parking is impossible but at low tide you can walk the flats for half a mile- easily. Careful, tide comes in fast. Lots of crabs, shrimp, and wildlife in the bay. Great for a sunset."

"One of our favorites in Brewster! Cute and nice beach for our family. It is between waterfront homes and the Ocean Edge Resort.
The parking lot is small so go early before it fills up.
This beach has a good blend of mini natural pools, grass, sea life and great for sand castles. The kids love exploring around the tall grass and rocks for hermit crabs and snails.
Extremely relaxing and a pleasure for our family."

Navigating the Brewster Flats
When planning your visit, checking the tide charts is paramount. The flats are only accessible and safe to explore during low tide. The tide comes in quickly, so always be mindful of the time and your proximity to shore. Many visitors, including artists, find inspiration in the ever-changing patterns and textures of the flats, making it a photographer's and nature lover's paradise.
For the best experience, wear sturdy water shoes or old sneakers that can get wet. The flats can be slippery and occasionally rocky, and protecting your feet will allow you to explore more comfortably. Keep an eye out for hermit crabs, small fish, snails, and other fascinating creatures that inhabit these shallow waters.
The Parking Predicament
Some visitors suggest that metered parking should be implemented to improve public access. Alternatively, leveraging the nearby Cape Cod Rail Trail offers a viable solution. Biking to the beach from the trail is a popular and scenic option, bypassing the parking issues altogether.
If driving is your only option, be prepared for potential disappointment or the need for a very early start. Consider visiting on a weekday or during the shoulder seasons when parking might be slightly more forgiving. Always be aware of signage regarding parking restrictions to avoid fines.
