Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the John F. Kennedy National Historic Site for its historical significance and the knowledgeable park rangers who provide engaging tours. Many appreciate the opportunity to collect National Park Service passport stamps. However, the limited capacity for house tours can be a drawback, with some visitors unable to enter the house due to it being fully booked.

"A small piece of history right in Brookline! This is a great place to check out for history enthusiasts with a spare hour or two. I was impressed with the park ranger’s ability to answer all the questions that my family had, especially regarding the Fitzgerald/Kennedy families’ roots in the Boston area. We were also the only people visiting at the time, so we didn’t feel rushed at all."

"We visited on a Thursday morning in mid-June 2025.

There is limited street parking here in the neighborhood. We arrived just before opening but unfortunately there was a group tour that was booked in the first time slot of there are only so many spots on the tour. So we were not able to get to actually go into the house because we were on a tight schedule.

We did take some pictures outside and if you follow the path around the side of the house, there is a visitor center in the basement of the house. It's completely ADA accessible as well with a wheel chair elevator.

The visitor center isn't super big but they have all the park store merch lined up along the walls and there is a little area with a large television and chairs that I am guessing they play a short film on.

To the left is is the main desk and they had the tickets to get into the house along with the NPS Passport Cancellation Stamps which is the main reason we came, other than trying to tour the house but that was no longer an option. We had other things we wanted to do that day.

There is a bathroom right when you walk in and a water bottle filler.

Overall the rangers were super nice and it was sad we couldn't tour the house. We would need to come back if we were in town and do this. It was worth the stop to just get the stamp."

"Located on a shady neighborhood street the site is well maintained. We went on the tour of the house with a park ranger who provided excellent information about the family while they lived in the house. I am including a video of the outside of the house pulse the first floor rooms."
