Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the park for its clean fishing pier, friendly atmosphere, and convenient boat ramp, especially with its recent solar lighting upgrades. It's a good spot for family fishing and cookouts. However, parking can be tight on weekends, and caution is advised for kayakers due to shallow water and sharp oyster shells. Some concerns exist regarding water quality for consuming caught fish.
"Great place to enjoy some pier fishing with the family. The boat ramp has two launching ramps and a kayak launching ramp. Some people use casting net, but I wouldn't. Theres too many oysters and other unknown debris. Recommend using a cork. Parking is tight on weekends."

"This was a nice spot, there is a nice channel thats pretty deep. A small ledge, and a lot to get hung up on if fishing from the bottom. Overall super clean place, most people were pretty friendly, and the boat ramp is rather small but definitely works for its intention. Great place!"

"The โPuente de Los Lobosโ (Wolf Bridge) is a historic landmark as well as a favorite fishing spot for locals. It also is a very good boat launch facility maintained by Cameron County. It also has a fishing dock, but no water for cleaning.
Do not expect to get a 4 Star Port-a Paddy because many people use it 24-7. The boat ramp is well-lit and was recently updated with new solar lighting. This is a good location for watching shore birds.
Note: Careful! I personally am apprehensive to eat fish caught here because of sewage discharge (8.3 million gallons per day)from the city several miles away. Also Lake San Martin is very shallow with razor sharp oyster shells- Kayaking is hazardous at low tide."
