AKG is a complete shit show
Today is for members only and has timed admission so it's a great day to go, right? Wrong. The parking garage was closed and there was nowhere to park anywhere else. Buffalo State was full and there were more cars parked on Lincoln Pkwy than there are on Shakespeare in Delaware…

Anyone been to AKG lately?
Trying to buy myself a ticket for an upcoming Monday and the website’s saying I need to be a member. I don’t see any events happening that day. Is that just how it works now or is there an issue with the site? I haven’t been since I was a kid so I wanted to check it out.

"We had a great time visiting the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, especially taking advantage of the free admission on the first Friday of the month. The atmosphere was fantastic — peaceful, inspiring, and perfect for exploring art. The architecture of the museum itself is beautiful, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Inside, the collection of art is truly impressive, with a great mix of contemporary and classic pieces. It’s a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, and we’re looking forward to coming back again. Highly recommended!"

"Awesome varied collection. All sorts of styles were represented, well displayed. Every room we walked through had a museum employee to answer questions. There's also an interactive area for children (it was Lego, so I stopped and played too). Looks like new exhibit areas are coming too. Nice flow."

"I recently visited the newly expanded Buffalo AKG for the first time in years, and it was such a joy to return! The renovations are stunning — the new spaces are bright, modern, and incredibly welcoming. I was thrilled to see so many of my old favorites still on display, though I was a little sad to see that the iconic "Mirrored Room" is no longer part of the collection. It was such a unique and immersive experience.
That said, there's so much to explore, and the new additions more than make up for it. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours here — it’s easy to lose yourself in the art. And if you need a break, the Wilson Town Hall atrium is a gorgeous place to relax, grab a bite, and soak in the architecture. Highly recommend a visit!"
