Legitimately can’t figure out the Metolius

The Metolius is the hardest river i’ve ever fished
Honestly that's one of the prettiest rivers to get skunked on. Crystal clear and cold in the summer, quiet and pretty in the winter.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often find the Head of the Metolius to be a beautiful natural area with a pleasant, easy trail. However, many express disappointment that the actual spring source is overgrown and not easily visible, leading to unmet expectations. The surrounding river and wildlife remain highlights for many.
"At the mouth of the river, it is so over grown that you can't see it at all. Zero. Nice parking lot and trail. Nothing to see. Different 40 years ago."

"In my honest opinion, this place just isn’t great. They advertise it as being the start of the river, okay well you can barely even see it, it’s so blocked by trees and bushes. It is NOT worth the drive and I’m not hating on this place at all but the only fun thing I did there was carve my initials on the post like many others! If you happen to be wishing 5 minutes, sure do it there’s a little walk down there, but if you’re in Sisters, I say do not come here. Instead go to the bridge near Camp Sherman Store it’s a great beautiful place!!"
Evan Shearer
"This was a quick short walk from the parking lot (there is a vault toilet there). The weather was perfect for coming here. We were not able to see the actual spring coming out, but the view was still wonderful. If you are in the area, check it out if only to stretch your legs and breathe in some fresh air."
