What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Roseland Waterpark offers a decent day of fun with its wave pool, lazy river, and slides, particularly enjoyable on less crowded weekdays. However, visitors frequently cite high admission prices for the park's size and outdated feel, alongside a strict and inconvenient no-outside-food policy. Inconsistent staffing and occasional attraction closures also detract from the experience for some.
"Roseland Waterpark used to be a great, family-friendly community waterpark. Unfortunately, it’s really gone downhill. Seems like they opened late this year and their website and Facebook page are rarely up to date to know when the season starts. Anyway, this park is small to begin with and now it feels like it hasn’t seen meaningful updates in years (besides the new mini golf which I didn't know about until a few minutes ago, we didn't get to experience it this year). Everything just feels a bit worn out and outdated. Admission prices have gone up, but the experience hasn’t improved to match. For what they’re charging now, you could drive 30-40 minutes further to Rochester and get a much more enjoyable waterpark/amusement park experience for just a few dollars more. Another big issue is the strict "no food or drink" policy. Not even small snacks for toddlers are allowed, and they don’t offer many toddler-friendly options to buy inside. You're basically forced to either pay inflated prices (like $3.50 for a bottle of water) or walk back to your car, which is what we ended up doing with our cooler in the parking lot. Staffing continues to be a problem as well. Attractions are often closed due to lack of staff, and they don’t offer any kind of discount or compensation when that happens even though it really limits your visit. With only about five main attractions, having even one closed makes a noticeable difference. We bought season passes this year, but after one disappointing visit we never went back. Total waste of money. It’s a shame, because this place used to have so much potential. Unless major changes are made, I can’t recommend it anymore."

"We had a really fun day at Roseland Waterpark, but honestly one of the staff members made the experience a lot worse. The head guard, Maddie was rude to us for no reason. When we were leaving, we said “Bye Maddie” just being nice, and she yelled “LEAVEEEE” at us. Later, after we finished changing, we said “Have a good day,” and she snapped back “LEAVE ME ALONE.”
It was super unprofessional and definitely put a damper on the day. The park itself was great, but the way she treated us was unnecessary and left a bad impression.
Most other lifeguards were nice, including Logan. He was very kind and respectful, and always understanding what we wanted to do.
Also, when me and my friend accidentally tipped out of the tube on one of the slides, the staff reported us for “purposely” doing it. Then, Maddie wouldn’t leave us alone about it even though it was an accident and we never intended to do it. Very unprofessional behavior from that head guard. She needs to be talked to ASAP before someone else goes through the same thing we did.
Thank you for reading this. Please consider my words wisely and act appropriately."

"Small water park, but enough to keep busy for several hours. 3 fun water slides, a splash pad, wave pool, and a lazy river. We went on a Wednesday during summer. The lines were fairly short, so not a lot of waiting. My kids and I had a great time.
I took one star off because I think the admission price is a bit steep for what they offer. I was also disappointed that the lazy river was closed the entire day we were there, and that is my favorite part about any water park for me. I didn’t take a star off for this, but you may want to call before you go to see if any of the rides are closed.
We ate lunch at the Rose Cafe. I would not recommend planning to eat there. We had cheeseburgers because there were so few choices. It was worse than school cafeteria food. We couldn’t even finish half of it, and threw the rest away. I’ll pack a cooler for lunch next time.
I also recommend using bug spray.
Otherwise, it was a good time for our family. Kids are 14 & 7 years old."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Young Children
Consider packing a variety of snacks that are easy to consume quickly in the parking lot. While the park has food for purchase, reviews suggest the quality is low and prices are high. The lazy river can also be a relaxing option for families with young children to enjoy together.
💰 Budget Travelers
Be prepared for the cost of food and drinks inside the park. The best way to manage your budget is to pack a cooler with your own food and drinks and eat in the parking lot. This significantly cuts down on expenses. While season passes are available, consider if the cost is justified based on your planned visits, as some past pass holders felt it wasn't worth it after one disappointing experience.
🎢 Thrill Seekers
Check the park map for the location of the slides and prioritize those that appear to offer the most adventurous drops. Keep in mind that attractions can sometimes be closed due to staffing, so it's wise to inquire about ride availability beforehand if you're primarily visiting for the slides.
Deep Dives
In-depth insights and expert knowledge
Navigating Roseland Waterpark: A Visitor's Guide
Key attractions include a wave pool, lazy river, several water slides, and a splash pad. The wave pool and lazy river are often highlighted as enjoyable, while the slides offer varying degrees of thrill. However, a recurring issue is the attraction closure due to staffing shortages. This can significantly impact the visitor experience, especially with a limited number of main attractions. It's advisable to call ahead to confirm which rides will be operational during your visit.
The food and drink policy is a major point of contention. The strict prohibition on outside food and beverages, coupled with the high prices and questionable quality of the in-park dining, forces many families to rely on their cars for meals. This logistical hurdle can detract from the overall enjoyment of the day.
Staff and Service at Roseland Waterpark
This inconsistency in staff conduct can significantly impact a visitor's experience. Positive interactions, like those with lifeguard Logan, can enhance a day out, while negative encounters can unfortunately overshadow the fun. It's important for park management to address these issues to ensure a consistently positive and welcoming environment for all guests.
Staffing levels themselves are also a concern, as mentioned in the previous deep dive. A lack of sufficient staff can lead to attractions being closed, which directly affects the value proposition for visitors, especially those who have paid admission or purchased season passes.
Maximizing Your Visit: Tips for Roseland Waterpark
Timing your visit can also greatly improve your experience. Opt for weekday mornings to avoid the largest crowds and enjoy shorter wait times for the roseland waterpark rides. If a weekday isn't possible, arriving early on any day will give you a head start.
Finally, stay informed. The park's communication channels aren't always up-to-date. Before your visit, check their website or social media, or even call the park directly, to inquire about any ride closures or special events. This proactive approach can prevent disappointment and help you plan your day accordingly.
