Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Cayo Costa's pristine, undeveloped beaches and exceptional shelling opportunities, calling it a favorite camping spot for its natural immersion. While the primitive nature and boat-only access are highlights for many, some wish for improved dock facilities and more convenient park tram schedules. The lack of amenities requires thorough preparation, but the serene, off-the-grid experience is highly cherished.

"This is my favorite place to go camping in Florida. It’s primitive and you’re one with nature while you’re there. It offers shelling and dark skies, as well as miles of trails to explore. We’ve taken two of our pups with us and it’s been great. I love the campsite hosts and the other travelers you get to meet. Beautiful palm trees surround your campsite and the breeze brings in the smell of saltwater. It may be my favorite place to be. 🌴 We can’t wait to camp there again when they open it back up!"

"If you have never been here, the only way since Hurricane Ian to visit the park is private or charter boat. There used to be a ferry, but not anymore. It's a beautiful deserted island... literally. There are cruise companies and enjoy your ride over. Tons of shells on any day, amazing stuff sometimes."

Jenn Meschi

"Beautiful park! Too big of a trip for just one night. We stayed 2 and still didn't get to see most of the park. The park tram schedule could use improvement. They pick you up too early for the boat so you waste a lot of time just waiting. Bikes are a must of you want to cover any ground. Great rental prices but they don't allow campers to keep them overnight which is really unfortunate. The camp grounds is a 20 minute walk from the camp store so come with everything you need. No rats on our visit. Great shelling on the beaches. Sites are gorgeous all though some don't have any shade."
