Reviews Summary
Tamarack State Beach is a beloved sandy stretch known for its surf-friendly waves and relaxed atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the miles of beach for walking and relaxing, though parking can be a significant challenge. The water is often comfortable for swimming, and the beach offers a classic Southern California experience, especially during unique events like Slamarack.
"Great for a beach day! Many stair-access points to the beach along the road so I suggest avoiding the parking lot headache and finding street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. We parked on Hemlock and our walk down to the beach was less than 10 minutes. Lots and lots of people occupying the sandy beach on a Saturday afternoon, but this was expected. The ocean water wasn’t too cold and there were lots of people boogie boarding/surfing/swimming in the water without wetsuits. Don’t forget sunscreen! The UV index can get really high even when the sun doesn’t feel scorching hot. Really enjoyed our day on Tamarack Surf Beach despite the amount of people and limited parking."
