Many highlight it as a great spot for families and a refreshing escape, though some note that parts require significant hiking and comfortable shoes are a must.
"Beautiful place not overly crowded on a weekday. We have been coming here for years but it's been a while. The catwalk itself was redone and done well. Always fun for kids. Picnic area was nice and clean also for us to enjoy our lunch under massive sycamore trees."

"Beautiful drive and gorgeous hike with a Catwalk through the mountain with a flowing river below. We will have to bring swim clothes next time. Also bring a hat or something to help with shade since some areas are in direct sunlight. There were lots of picnic tables throughout the area and it seems like a good place for a family picnic."
Nikki Neverdull
"We are fairly new to New Mexico and are making our way to all of its treasures. Catwalk is one place we have been wanting to see. My husband is disabled. I was excited about having an area that he could easily traverse. He could in SOME areas. This is still a trek. You need to have plenty of water with you and comfortable shoes. You WILL be hiking in places. It's worth it. Plenty of places to stop and rest and even dip your feet in the water."
