"Even if this were not the site of a significant engagement between British and Colonial forces, a part of George Washington's desperate campaign to prevent the Brits from occupying Philadelphia, the Brandywine battlefield park is a wonderful place to visit. The grounds are lovely, as is the small but excellent museum. The historic buildings still in place are well maintained. They beautifully illustrate the guide's excellent, lively explanation of the events that took place there on 9/11/1777, and beyond.
All in all, a small but wonderful place and well worth the visit. Just keep in mind that Brandywine Battlefield is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Highly recommended!"
