Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate the historical significance of Chalmette Battlefield and the solemnity of the National Cemetery. Ranger talks are frequently highlighted as engaging and informative, offering deep insights into the Battle of New Orleans. However, some reviewers note that the site's maintenance could be improved, and the visitor center's accessibility can be inconsistent due to facility issues.

"I've been to several battle fields though out the country. This is by far the worst maintained that I've been to. The drive-through self tour was enjoyable, and the plaques seemed dated. The home on the property appears to need several repairs. The visitor center was closed due to A/C issues."

BRYAN LOWRY

"I love history, so this review is somewhat biased. I am sure that many would find the battlefield to be dull and boring; there isn't much for kids to do here. The talk by the NPS ranger was excellent. A bonus (for me at least) was the Creole Queen had docked while I was there. A walk up to the levee led to other opportunities to ship-sight.

The restroom was clean and convenient. The a/c at the visitor's center was not functioning, so it was closed. The park rangers were available outside to answer questions, but I would have liked to have seen the exhibits inside."

Judith Graham

"Our National Park Ranger was very engaging and funny. Very informative and interesting history.
